33rd Doha International Book Fair will start today at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center

Today marks the opening of the 33rd Doha International Book Fair at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). This year's event will have the subject "Knowledge Builds Civilizations." It's the most international involvement in the history of the exhibition, with over 515 publishing houses from 42 countries having confirmed their attendance. Embassies of friendly nations will also be contributing substantial cultural elements.
As the honored guest, the Sultanate of Oman will display its illustrious past in a special pavilion.
Qatari publishing companies are well-represented at the fair, which is evidence of the nation's dedication to promoting the book, publishing, and creative industries. Along with Lusail University, the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, and Qatar Museums, local participants include Rosa Publishing House, Dar Al Watad, QU Press, Katara Publishing House, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press), Dar Al Sharq, Dar Al Thaqafa, Dar Napjah, and Dar Nawa.
Additionally, the fair will have a notable Arab, foreign, and regional presence. The Ministry of Heritage and Culture of Oman, the Sharjah Book Authority, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, the Institute of Public Administration in Saudi Arabia, Taibah University of Saud Arabia, and the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature of the State of Kuwait are among the organizations that are taking part. The General Egyptian Book Organization and the Ministries of Culture from Yemen, Algeria, and Morocco will also be present. Alongside American and British publishing houses, publishers from China, Azerbaijan, Mauritania, Jordan, and Turkiye are also taking part in the event.
