AKIS is fully licensed and accredited by the State of Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education for its British curriculum, and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum. AKIS is also an accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), and the CBSE Affiliate.

Owned by Qatargas Operating Company Ltd. (Qatargas) – one of the largest natural gas-producing companies in the world, AKIS was established to cater primarily to the children of Qatargas employees. The school is located in the Al Khor Community, approximately 40Km north of Doha. , the school’s grounds are set amidst the landscaped gardens of Al Khor Community, a gated residential complex comprising three recreational clubs with onsite gymnasiums and restaurants, convenience stores, and other amenities.
