Awqaf and Islamic Affairs provided QR24,191.142 in aid for 530 families eligible for assistance in Qatar

In September 2023, 530 households in the State of Qatar who qualified for relief received QR24,191.142 in aid from the Department of Zakat Affairs at the Ministry of Endowment (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs. The amounts of aid provided in September, according to Saad Omran Al Kuwari, Director of the Zakat Affairs Department, were allocated to the monthly periodical assistance given to qualifying families, valued at QR10,743.072, as well as the lump-sum aid spent once, based on need, valued at QR13,448.070.

Al Kuwari went on to say that the Department of Zakat Affairs pays the assistance to eligible registered families in accordance with laws, Sharia banks, and authorised procedures. The department provides the eligible families with the option to apply for assistance via its website, www.zakat.gov.qa. On the other hand, candidates must upload all necessary files in the designated areas on the website.
