News EventThe Berber Jewellery Collection from the Royal Palace exhibition at the Museum of Islamic Art is the first event of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture. Before it ends on May 20, the public is invited to view it as part of the Years of Culture project.
This exhibition provides a rare view into Moroccan culture as it is the first time the collection has left Morocco.
More than 200 historically and culturally significant pieces from Morocco's Oudayas, National Museum of Adornment in Rabat, are on display in the Royal Palace's Berber Jewellery Collection.
Morocco's varied areas, from the southern provinces to the Atlas Mountains, are reflected in the Royal Palace Collection.
The many techniques, styles, and materials exhibited by these artifacts showcase the distinctive characteristics of major jewelry production centers in Morocco and showcase the rich legacy of the country. The creativity displayed in wirework, inlaying, and the use of materials like as coral, amber, glass, pearls, and coins is remarkable. Common themes that reflect the Berber people's close relationship with the natural world include geometric patterns and stylized representations of nature.
