Crescent Sighting Committee announced March 23 as the first day of the holy month of Ramadan

The first day of the holy month of Ramadan will be March 23, 2023, as announced by the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, on Thursday.

The crescent moon marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan was not sighted today in the country, added the Committee.

The Committee, on March 19, had called upon Muslims in Qatar to sight the new crescent (hilal) of the blessed month of Ramadan on Tuesday, March 21, asking witnesses to head to the headquarters of the Awqaf, located in Al Dafna (Towers) to report his testimony.
