Garangao Night held on Sunday by Katara; thousands of children and their families participated

NewsThe Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, organised the Garangao Night, a notable celebration, on Sunday evening. It was held as part of its Ramadan activities, in collaboration with public and private agencies, and as part of its revival of authentic Qatari heritage and popular heritage. Thousands of children and their families attended.
Thousands of youngsters arrived around 8:30 p.m. to celebrate, followed by their guardians, family, and friends. They congregated in Al Hikma Square, which was decked out with colourful lights that came from every angle and hallway.
A renowned traditional song for the night of Garangao is chanted by throngs of youngsters dressed in their traditional garb embroidered with gold and silver threads, calling themselves "Al Zari" for the girls and "Sudairi" for the boys.
In addition to expressing their delight at the deep meanings that the lovely traditional night carries and a positive, purposeful message that rewards the kids for their half-month fast of the blessed month of Ramadan and encourages them to continue and complete the fast of the other half of the holy month, many parents and children expressed their great happiness with the wonderful celebration that Katara prepared for its fans on Garangao Night.
