The residents of the northern hemisphere, including the residents of Qatar, can view and monitor the Geminids meteor shower. The Qatar Calendar House announced the same. Dr. Bashir Marzouk, astronomer expert stated that the Geminids meteor shower will reach its peak on Wednesday evening, 14 December and will last until sunrise on Thursday, 15 December.
The monitoring of the Geminids meteor shower requires only a place far from environmental and light pollution as this aspect distinguished the meteor shower. One can see the Geminids meteor shower without astronomical devices or telescopes, and they can see and monitor it with the naked eye according to Dr. Bashir Marzouk. He added that modern digital cameras can be used to capture a photo of the Geminids meteor shower, taking into account the increasing exposure time during photography to obtain distinctive images of the meteor.
