General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority

The General Authority for Retirement and Social Security was established by Law No. (24) of 2002 regarding retirement and pensions, then it was reorganized by Emiri Resolution No. (38) of 2014.

The authority has a legal personality and a budget that is attached to the budget of the Ministry of Finance and is affiliated with the Minister of Finance. It has a head representing it, whose appointment is issued by an Emiri decree, and the president is responsible for discharging all its technical, financial and administrative affairs. ​

The Authority aims to secure a decent life for retirees and their beneficiaries. Within this framework, it implements the Retirement and Civil Pensions Law No. (24) for the year 2002 and its amendments, and the Military Retirement and Pensions Law No. (13) for the year 2006 and its executive regulations, as well as managing the Civil and Military Pensions Fund.
