Hamad International Airport has received a certification extension from British Standards Institution

NewsThe British Standards Institution (BSI) has extended Hamad International Airport's certification, reiterating the airport's commitment to setting industry standards for environmental sustainability and stewardship. This announcement was made by MATAR, the Qatar Company for Airport Operation and Management. Upon the audit's successful conclusion, the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certificate was obtained. The environmental management system standards that an organisation might use to improve its performance are outlined in the ISO 14001:2015 certified.
Hamad International Airport's environmental sustainability objectives, which include waste management, reducing the use of natural resources, and reducing climate change, have been demonstrated by its capacity to maintain this international reputation.
Hamad International Airport underwent a surveillance auditing process that involved employee interviews, a review of the airport's operations with an emphasis on areas with high potential environmental risk, an assessment of operational controls, and an assessment of the airport's compliance with ISO 14001:2015 standards.
Apart from the Environmental Management Systems certification ISO 14001:2015, Hamad International Airport is also certified under the ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management Systems and the ISO 55001:2014 Asset Management System from BSI. Additionally, the airport has earned the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA Level-3) from ACI.
