NewsAirports Council International (ACI) World has awarded Hamad International Airport (DOH) the Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation. The certification programme, which will be implemented in August 2022, focuses on increasing accessibility, ensuring fair customer experiences, and promoting a more inclusive atmosphere in the airport business. The success of Hamad International Airport demonstrates its dedication to providing accessible services inside its facilities.
The airport's wide range of passenger services and facilities, such as the Muzn Lounge - a special sensory room, dedicated washrooms, shuttle services within its expansive terminal, access to airport updates through information desks with trained Customer Service representatives, and a dedicated Animal Relief Area for passengers travelling with service animals, all contribute to the accreditation.
Setting objectives, making plans, and keeping accountable along the accessibility development journey are all part of the accrediting programme. The ACI Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation will be valid for three years, during which time Hamad International Airport will continue to improve its services, policies, and governance structure.
The airport hopes to improve the passenger experience for people of all abilities and build an inclusive culture by prioritising accessibility and implementing worldwide best practises. This prestigious achievement establishes a new standard for airports in the Middle East, motivating the sector to strive for accessibility and diversity.
