Maroona Beach, also called French beach, is a small cozy place, wild and natural. There are no luxury hotels and noisy restaurants, it's the main advantage is the soft goldish sand and a shallow warm sea, transparent like a teardrop. People come here to have a good time with family or swim with masks in turquoise waters or have a romantic picnic in the light of sunset. The shadow is absent, so it's necessary to take care of umbrellas and sunscreens. Tourists should also bring chairs, tables, barbecue facilities (if they plan to have a picnic), a supply of food and drinking water because there are no cafes and shops nearby. There is a comfortable soil road which goes up to the beach, so tourists can get there by car. It's better to come earlier on weekdays, otherwise, a comfortable spot can be missed.
Located in the North-East part of Katar, 80 kilometers from Doha. On the South, it borders Fuwairit beach, which is longer, but usually closed in April-June due to the rare Hawksbill sea turtles that breed here.
