News EventOn Friday, the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Doha was a hive of activity as social media influencers and previous football greats joined forces to play a "Match For Hope" to collect funds for the Education Above All (EAA) programmes. Rally Chunkz defeated Team AboFlah 7–5, and the game made history as the largest ever fundraising event of QAR32,301,625 ($8,849,760) in a single evening.
The event, which was co-organized by the Qatar Football Association, EAA, and Q Life, a cultural platform under the purview of Qatar's International Media Office, was completely sold out. The proceeds from the game will go towards supporting other EAA projects in Tanzania, Sudan, Rwanda, Palestine, Mali, and Pakistan.
The two teams, which included football legends like Kaka, Roberto Carlos, Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, David Villa, and Claude Makelele, were commanded by the two most popular content makers in the Middle East and North Africa, AboFlah and Chunkz.
A concert, dancing performances, DJ mixes, live stage acts, and other entertainment for all ages were also available to attendees.
"Match for Hope" demonstrated the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022's lasting impact, which was the first to be staged in the Middle East and Arab world.
