According to a senior source, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education is creating an artificial intelligence (AI) plan for the education sector that would adhere to the AI goals of the Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030.
According to Eng. Mona Salem Al Fadhli, Director of the Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, "the strategy will primarily focus on providing easy access and making the best use of big data in regulating the educational process."
Al Fadhli was speaking at a broadcast on Qatar Radio that featured a number of authorities and professionals to talk about localising artificial intelligence in the GCC and the Arab region.
The approach, according to her, intends to create prediction systems to improve the ministry's capacity to track and manage the educational process's quality through the application of technology, or artificial intelligence. The technology enables the development of a prediction system utilising data mining techniques that leads to predictive modelling, which aids in the prediction of future trends.
In an effort to establish an AI foundation, Al Fadhli claimed that the process of creating this strategy for the education industry started around a year ago.
The technology, according to her, would assist in the analysis of educational data currently accessible, including evaluating students' academic achievement, tracking their progress, finding areas for growth, and offering personalised coaching for each student.
According to her, education is the foundation for enhancing students' capacities, honing their abilities, and putting them in a position to meet the demands of the labour market, which frequently employ AI for data analysis, programming, and online learning, among other things.
An worldwide study found that AI in education offers several advantages, including assisting instructors with time-consuming chores, grading reports, maintaining reports, improving virtual AI schools and classrooms, and much more.
AI can help teachers customise their instruction so that each student learns at their own pace. Currently, a few well-known educational platforms provide tailored courses employing artificial intelligence.
