Ministry of Municipality’s Simaisma project was inaugurated which is to become a new cultural landmark

The Simaisma project, the newest undertaking of the Ministry of Municipality, was officially opened on Thursday by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. The project, which spans an area of 8 million square metres and is managed by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, has an investment of QR 20 billion.

The inaugural event was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, the Municipality's Minister, HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, as well as dignitaries, professionals, and representatives from the State of Qatar's real estate investment and tourist industries.

When the project is finished, it will become a new cultural landmark, adding to the nation's collection of distinctive landmarks and unique tourist destinations. Additionally, a 7-kilometer waterfront extension to the Simaisma area—which is known for its breathtaking view of the State of Qatar's eastern coast—will provide tourists and residents of Qatar with an unparalleled entertainment and tourism experience.

The three primary pillars of the Simaisma Project are the use of eco-friendly local materials, smart systems and technology in construction, private sector involvement, and luring in foreign investment. The main goal is to reduce the amount of unskilled labour.

In addition to offering investment prospects for other industries, the project will also directly and indirectly aid in the creation of new employment opportunities, which will enhance and diversify the country's economy.

The National Development Strategy 2024–2030, which was introduced earlier this year, has set lofty goals, and the integrated tourism project is a major step towards accomplishing them.

This plan seeks to strengthen the non-oil industry's economic contribution to Qatar, give the private sector more clout, and promote foreign direct investment.
