NewsIn order to lessen the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and improve public health, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has urged individuals to participate in the National STEPwise Survey, 2023 for NCDs.
The STEPwise survey was launched on May 25 and is being carried out in association with the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA). It was created by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and is a standardised survey.
The PSA, HMC, and PHCC field teams perform the National STEPwise Survey, 2023 for NCDs from Saturday through Thursday.
The survey will be conducted, according to the Ministry, by visiting the residences of both Qataris and non-Qatari citizens after a random sample is chosen from household lists based on the Population Census, 2020. Participants in the survey will be chosen at random from these chosen households and will range in age from 15 to 69.
The National STEPwise Survey for NCDs in 2023 is a follow-up to the survey from 2012.
In addition to offering a database on chronic non-communicable illnesses, it will also include details on risk factors including smoking, inactivity, poor diet, obesity, hypertension, elevated blood sugar, and blood fat levels.
