News EventThe guidelines and rules to be adhered to on National Sports Day in 2024 were released by the joint committee organising the event. February's second Tuesday is designated as Qatar Sports Day. It falls on February 13 this year. The committee set forth the requirements in a statement, stressing mobility, physical activity, and awareness raising while discouraging too-dramatic celebrations. The committee emphasised the value of emphasising awareness-raising initiatives to promote regular sports participation as a healthy habit and deepen participants' comprehension of the role that sports play in both personal and social lives.
The requirements underlined the necessity of the suggested sporting activities being appropriate for the participants' ages and health, taking into account their nature and length, and preventing physical stress and accidents. Additional requirements included not erecting tents or making temporary artificial sports facilities, making sure that security and safety standards are met during sporting events, making use of facilities, sports venues, parks, and public areas, serving nutritious food instead of fast food, and not giving away free gifts or food to spectators.
Organising sporting and movement events rather than flamboyant and musical performances was another of the requirements and standards. The goal of this strategy is to motivate people to participate in sports instead of just observing them. In its conclusion, the committee urged all ministries, public institutions, government bodies, and private sector organizations—including the private sector—to submit their plans and programmes for National Sport Day 2024 to the joint committee for the event. In order for the form to be reviewed, approved, and completed, they must also provide an approximate number of participants, which can be found on the www.msy.gov.qa website.
It seeks to guarantee the accomplishment of the noble aspirations and lofty purposes connected with the National Sport Day, as well as the intended objectives delineated in Amiri Decision No. 80 of 2011 about the National Sports Day.
