Official visual identity of 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup revealed

Carmelo Anthony, FIBA Global Ambassador, unveiled the official visual identity for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which will take place in Doha. He also launched the "Step It Up" initiative, which would bring players, teams, and supporters together to maximize the competition's legacy and effect.

The most prominent basketball competition will become the first to take place in the Middle East and North Africa in 2027. FIBA's largest competition ever to be hosted in a single city will also take place.

Thirty-two countries will compete for the prized trophy. Direct qualification spots for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics would also be on the line.

The Bisht, a traditional and prestigious sign in Qatari culture, served as the inspiration for the flagship event's logo, which is deeply ingrained in the country's history and culture. The logo represents distinction, accomplishment, and pride.

The Naismith Trophy's Bisht wrapping embodies Qatar's fervent embrace of the international basketball community, the ultimate prize, and the pride and fervor of donning a national team shirt.

As the competition progresses through the qualifying, tournament, and final stages, the logo will also alter accordingly.

White, brown, and black will be used to represent different competition phases, reflecting the Bisht's hues throughout the day. Additionally, it will symbolize new beginnings that transform into resiliency and joy. The company Unlock Brands created the logo.

The distinctive visual identity, which is founded on a bold graphic area, aptly captures a journey of greatness, strength, and unity. More than just a catchphrase, the "Step It Up" campaign is a call to action that connects Qatar's story and goals while showcasing the full power and spirit of basketball.

Leroy Tremblot, a branding and design firm, created the visual identity and tagline.
