Preparatory meetings for the Doha Dialogue on Labour Mobility between Gulf and African Countries were held in Doha

nEWSWith the involvement of 33 nations from the GCC, Jordan, Lebanon, and 25 African nations, preparatory discussions for the Doha Dialogue on Labor Mobility between Gulf and African Countries were held in Doha yesterday.
The African Commission, the Executive Council of GCC Labour Ministers, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), experts, academics, and representatives of civil society attended the meeting of the technical committee, which was chaired by Assistant Undersecretary for Migrant Labour Affairs at the Ministry of Labour Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The agreement between the GCC states, Jordan, Lebanon, and the African Union to launch the "Doha Dialogue" is part of the collaboration among nations aimed at supporting and enhancing expatriate labor to achieve development goals, which requires coordinated efforts and a coordinated approach to enhance expatriate labor protection, as Sheikha Najwa stated in her opening remarks at the technical committee meeting.
According to her explanation, the goal of the Doha debate is to give the participating nations a public forum for debate wherein they may share ideas and experiences in order to develop best practices that improve regional cooperation initiatives and partnerships for mutual gain.
Sheikha Najwa emphasized that the GCC, Jordan, and Lebanon acknowledge the beneficial role that foreign labor plays in accomplishing sustainable development objectives. Consequently, these nations have implemented a number of legal measures and reforms to safeguard foreign workers and improve their marketability in order to bring their national labor mobility initiatives into line with those of other countries.
