NewsQatar has enacted a landmark law permitting digital real estate registration services, which is a major step towards modernity.
The Director of the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice, Amer Al Ghaferi, explained that the Real Estate Registration Department may now offer all of its services entirely electronically in accordance with Law No. (5) of 2024, which regulates real estate registration.
In an interview with Qatar TV, Al Ghaferi described the new laws' revolutionary effects, highlighting how they might revolutionize services for locals, foreigners, and the real estate industry as a whole.
He emphasized how critical it is to verify applicants and validate their intentions, especially in sales, mortgages, and transfer transactions that involve large sums of money and private data.
In order to obtain necessary services, applicants would no longer have to physically visit ministry headquarters or service centers.
Al Ghaferi explained that the first priority will be to digitize real estate sale transactions, with further services to come.
Customers will soon be able to make real estate transactions conveniently online via the SAK application thanks to the new law's provisions.
Additionally, the new law permits the electronic implementation of the specified real estate registration procedures in compliance with the standards and procedures established by a Ministerial decree.
It stipulates that, with regard to these procedures, electronic requests and transactions are legally equivalent to traditional paper-based assets.
Additionally, it adds procedures for quickly noting court decisions on real estate pages in order to stop fraud, improve transaction transparency, and give parties access to thorough real estate information—all of which help to reduce conflict.
