Qatar National Day; Hundreds of cultural and traditional events and activities commenced at Darb Al Saai

NewsThe whole country started preparing for Qatar National Day. Darb Al Saai, which is home to hundreds of traditional and cultural events and activities, got underway on Sunday at Umm Salal, much as in years past. The event, which takes place over nine days and showcases Qatar's genuine legacy and rich history, is planned by the Ministry of Culture in Qatar in collaboration with partners in the public and commercial sectors.
Darb Al Saai, which spans a massive 150,000 square metres, will welcome residents and visitors every day from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. till December 18. On Sunday, the heritage space was opened with the raising of the national flag of Qatar at Flag Square. It was followed by performances by the military band, riders of horses and camels, and a dhow on wheels. Children may ride camels and get in-depth knowledge about many aspects of desert life at the Al Adhba festival.
Every day, the Darb Al Saai region hosts a number of cultural and historical activities. The Al Bidda festival honours the maritime history of Qatar. Documenting the nation's marine legacy include Al Bidda Council, Al Mutawa House, Popular Café, Al Nukhadha Al Naham Majlis, Akkas Al Freej, Al Tawash, and others. There will also be a lot of traditional folk games practiced, such as grabbing the sail and tug of war. In order to educate the public about various fauna and plants, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change will put them on exhibit.
Purebred Arabian horses, equestrian-related activities, and the significance of equestrianism in Qatari culture will all be highlighted at Al Shaqab. Art contests, pottery workshops, Liyuan art, Arabic calligraphy workshops, caricature drawing workshops, and exhibitions of Qatari culture are all scheduled in the Ministry of Culture's Visual Art Centre.
