Qatar's Amir, His Highness (HH) Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, names Dr. Sultan Salmeen Saeed Al Mansouri as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates, marking a major diplomatic milestone six years after the UAE severed all ties with Qatar during the 2017 GCC crisis.
The Amiri Diwan said in a tweet, "His Highness Emir Al-Moufdi issues Emiri Resolution No. (57) of 2023 appointing Dr. Sultan Salmeen Saeed Al-Mansoori as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates."
The decision follows the restoration of diplomatic ties between Qatar and the UAE on June 19, 2023, which included the restart of operations at the Qatar Embassy in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai, as well as the UAE Embassy in Doha.
