QCB launched a large-scale national campaign to raise information security awareness under the slogan "Stay Aware"

Under the theme "Stay Aware," the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) organised a nationwide campaign to increase public awareness of information security. The Ministry of Interior, the National Cyber Security Agency, and the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority coordinated and supported the campaign. 

Launching the campaign, according to QCB, is consistent with Qatar's efforts to raise awareness of cybersecurity threats and its goal of creating a cyber-secure society capable of meeting the challenges that come with the rapidly advancing technology revolution.

By highlighting potential cyberthreats in light of the swift advancements in technology and digitalization, the campaign seeks to raise public awareness of the risks associated with financial crime. The programme also seeks to arm individuals with doable tactics to keep themselves safe from such dangers. 

The campaign highlights the significance of cybersecurity by concentrating on three primary dangers. First, phishing, in which con artists pose as well-known organisations in order to send victims emails or texts asking for sensitive personal information. The second is warning people about the possibility of getting calls that aren't legitimate, and the third is stressing the value of data privacy and advising people to provide their personal information with caution.

In order to lessen cybercrimes, Qatar Central Bank and its campaign partners hope to reiterate the dangers posed by the internet, give the public the knowledge they need to safeguard their finances and personal information, and educate people about the need of keeping their personal information private on social media. The development of a safe operating system that incorporates the newest cutting-edge technical advancements is crucial in the field of information security, as any flaw in one of its components poses a threat to the system as a whole. For this reason, raising awareness across the board is equally critical.
