Souq Al Asery (Souq Al Asiri) is one of Qatar's oldest and most well-known souqs. It's also a tourist spot that's on most people's to-see list when they visit Qatar. Souq Al Asery is a colourful souq with all kinds of different shops that sell practically everything from suitcases to handbags, perfumes to ouds, readymade clothes to different fabrics, shoes to toys, watches to electronics; you name it, it's there, and the best thing is most of the items are reasonably priced.
One thing to keep in mind is that most of the prices are not fixed so you may have to haggle and bargain your way down, especially if you're a tourist. You can also find little tea shops, cafeterias dotted around the market if you feel peckish while roaming the souq, you can grab something to eat and drink.
The Souq Al Asery is located opposite the Fanar Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre and across from the colourful Souq Waqif. Parking can be a problem around the souq, but with the massive parking lot under Souq Waqif, it shouldn't be too bad.
