2023-2024 cruise season in Qatar concludes witnessing a significant surge in the number of passengers and ships

NewsWith a notable increase in both passengers and ships, the 2023–2024 cruise season in Qatar ended on a high note, making it one of the biggest in the nation's history. Based on data from Mwani Qatar and Qatar Tourism, the season's total number of visitors exceeded 378,000, a significant 38% increase over the prior year.
Furthermore, there were 68,050 reversal passengers—an astounding 83.2% increase—in comparison to the previous year.
The cruise season, which spanned from October 2023 to April 2024, saw a significant increase in the number of passengers and ships that docked at the Grand Cruise Terminal in the Old Doha Port. MSC Virtuosa, Seabourn Encore, AIDAprima, and Artania were a few of the ships that called at the port this season. Furthermore, six foreign cruise ships, including the Crystal Symphony, Mein Schiff 2, Azamara Journey, MS Riviera, MS Hamburg, and the renowned Norwegian Dawn, made their first port calls in the nation this season.
Another notable increase was the number of ships landing at the Old Doha Port, which went from 55 in the previous season to 73 this season—a 33% increase.
