33rd Doha International Book Fair; Ministry of Culture announced an exciting new competition for publishers and writers

During the 33rd Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), the Ministry of Culture has unveiled an intriguing new competition for writers and publishers. 

The competition's goals are to recognize and encourage the accomplishments of the writers and publishers who take part in the fair. It offers awards in multiple categories, including Young Qatari Writer Award, Outstanding Publisher in Children's Books (Local and International), and Outstanding Publisher (Local and International).

The competition's main objectives, according to DIBF Director Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, are to support the publishing sector and promote a thriving literary community.He went on to say that the 34th book fair edition will feature the announcement of the competition winners. From this year on, the competition winners from the previous edition will be announced at each fair edition.

160,000 Qatari Riyals in total prize money will be awarded for this tournament, and it will be divided as follows: 30,000 Qatari Riyals will be awarded to the winner of the Outstanding Publisher (Local) category; 30,000 Qatari Riyals will be awarded for the same category (International); 30,000 Qatari Riyals will be awarded for the Outstanding Publisher in Children's Books (Local); 20,000 Qatari Riyals will be awarded for the Creativity Award for Writers; and 20,000 Qatari Riyals will be awarded for the Young Qatari Writer Award.
