33rd Doha International Book Fair was inaugrated yesterday

H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, opened the 33rd Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) yesterday. The event at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, with the theme Knowledge Builds Civilizations, runs through May 18. Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, the Sultanate of Oman's Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, was present for the inauguration. Several of Their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers, head of foreign missions, senior officials, and exhibition guests were also in attendance.

During their visit to the exhibition pavilions, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs were briefed about the Qatari, Arab, and foreign exhibitors as well as the most recent books, manuscripts, and publications from government agencies, embassies accredited to the state, and Arab and international cultural institutions, particularly the Sultanate of Oman, this edition's honored guest.

More than 515 publishing houses from 42 countries participate in the 33rd Doha International Book Fair, which also showcases more than 180,000 new titles in a variety of knowledge and science sectors. Additionally, the embassies of friendly and fraternal nations are there to offer broader cultural programming.

"Knowledge Builds Civilizations" is the theme of the fair. The Sultanate of Oman is the session's honored guest. It takes part with a unique pavilion and an extensive cultural program that showcases the real Omani heritage, literary and intellectual output, and a variety of popular and creative acts.
