NewsWith effect from May 22, 2024, buses carrying more than twenty-five passengers, taxis, and limousines are not allowed to utilize the left lane on road networks that have three or more lanes going in each direction, according to Article No. 49 of the Traffic Law. On all routes, delivery motorbike riders are required to stay in the right lane; they are permitted to change lanes up to 300 meters ahead of intersections.
"Effective from May 22, 2024, as per the provisions of the Article No. 49 of the Traffic Law, buses with more than (25) passengers, taxis, limousines, and motorcycles for delivery services are prohibited from using the left lane on road networks with three or more lanes in each direction, while the lane changes are allowed at least (300 meters) before intersections," the ministry stated in a press release.
If the aforementioned is not followed, legal action will be taken against the perpetrator, who will then be referred under Article (95) of the aforementioned Traffic Law to the Public Prosecution for its proceedings.
