Following Friday's Maghrib prayers, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs' Crescent Sighting Committee declared that Ramadan would start in Qatar on Saturday, March 1.
Following Friday night's sighting of the crescent moon, the Committee formally announced the news. After a meeting at the Ministry's headquarters, the committee declared the beginning of the Holy Month.
