Doha was ranked among the world's safest cities once more due to its extremely low crime rate. With a crime index of just 16.1, Doha has the third-lowest crime rate among the 311 worldwide cities, according to Numbeo's most recent Crime Index 2024 Mid-Year report.
The Numbeo index gauges perceived crime rates by taking into account variables such as theft, aggression, and vandalism. Crime levels are classified as extremely low below 20, moderate between 20 and 40, high between 60 and 80, and very high above 80 according to Numbeo's Crime Index.
The study found that, with a score of 17.09, concerns of facing physical violence in Qatar due to one's skin color, ethnic origin, gender, or religion were extremely low.
In Qatar, the score for fearing an attack was as low as 12.13, while the score for fearing a robbery or mugging was 10.50.
