11 Jun 2024
NewsWith the Eid Al Adha holidays and summer break approaching, travel is about to increase. To guarantee seamless passage amidst a surge of passengers, Hamad International Airport sends out a notice. The airport said in a statement that the departure peak is anticipated to start on Thursday, June 13, and last all weekend. In the meanwhile, more arrivals are scheduled to start the weekend of June 20.
Additionally, the airport confirmed that it has "planned extensively" to effectively oversee the peak time.
HIA has provided a list of tips to make passenger travel during this busy time easier, which includes:
Check-In Online: Before heading to the airport, travelers are urged to complete the online check-in process. This makes it possible for the check-in procedure to go more quickly and smoothly, cutating down on airport wait times and guaranteeing a stress-free trip.
Early Arrival is beneficial: Travelers are recommended to be at the airport four hours prior to the scheduled departure time of their flight in order to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey. This gives plenty of time for the security check, boarding process, and check-in.
Make use of Self-Service Services for Check-In and Bag Drop: The airport offers self-service check-in and bag-drop services to travelers traveling by air. These facilities allow customers to check in independently, print their boarding tickets and bag tags, tag their baggage, and drop them off at the bag drop desk. This practical choice minimizes wait times for travelers and expedites the check-in procedure.
E-Gate Machines: For quicker immigration clearance, visitors and locals over the age of eighteen are urged to utilize the airport's e-gate machines. Faster admission into the departure area is made possible by these machines, which expedite the immigration process.
Closing Times for Check-In and Boarding: Check-in closes sixty minutes prior to departure, and boarding shuts twenty minutes prior to departure. Travelers need to make sure they follow these deadlines when finishing the check-in procedure and heading to the departure gate.
Baggage Allowance and Weight Restrictions: Travelers are urged to follow the airline's baggage allowance and weight guidelines. To prevent extra costs or delays during the check-in procedure, it is imperative that you adhere to the specified weight and size restrictions.
Avoid Non-Standard Luggage: To avoid creating difficulties for security check-in and boarding procedures, please do not travel with excessive or non-standard luggage. Choose traditional luggage options if you want a hassle-free trip.
Drop-offs and Pick-Ups: It is advised that pick-ups and drops take place in the temporary parking lot. When appropriate, one can also use public transportation to get to and from the airport.
