Formula One; Doha will host the 2025 season’s last Sprint weekend from November 28 to 30
15 Jul 2024
NewsThe only difference from the 2024 schedule is that Formula One will feature six sprint race weekends in the following season, with Belgium hosting the races instead of Austria. After hosting a sprint event at Spielberg's Red Bull Ring for the previous three years, Austria will now follow the conventional Grand Prix format.
November 28–30, 2025, will be the final Sprint weekend in Doha. The Sprint event is scheduled to take place this year from November 29 to December 1 at Doha's Lusail International Circuit.
The Shanghai race (March 21–23) will kick off the sprint weekend in full swing before it is hosted in Miami, USA, from May 2–4. The Belgian Grand Prix is scheduled for July 25–27. It was last held as a sprint in 2023.
The weekend will then be held in Austin, Texas, USA, from October 17–19, and then in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from November 7–9.
Since the model was first implemented in 2021, the Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo's Interlagos has been a sprint. It is a Saturday 100km race that offers points for the top eight finishers ahead of Sunday's regular race.
This year's calendar is altered to include the sprint qualifying on Friday and the race on Saturday morning, followed by the grand prix qualifying. There will be three sprint events remaining in the season.
Beginning on March 14 and 16, Australia will host the 2025 season.
