General Tax Authority has officially announced that April 30 will be the deadline for the tax returns submission for the tax year 2023

The General Tax Authority (GTA) has formally declared that the tax returns for the tax year 2023 must be submitted by April 30. In a statement on Sunday, GTA emphasized that all entities—individuals and businesses—that are subject to the terms of the Income Tax Law, as enacted by Law No. 24 of 2018 and its related executive orders and modifications, are required to file their tax returns. It clarified that all businesses with a commercial register or commercial license must file a tax return and noted that this need applies to enterprises completely owned by Qataris or other GCC citizens, as well as to businesses exempt from income tax or those with non-Qatari partners. 

This prerequisite is applicable regardless of whether they have participated in any business endeavors. In addition, the GTA has urged all taxpayers to promptly file their tax returns using the Dhareeba Application (available to businesses that meet the requirements for filing Simplified Tax Returns) or the Dhareeba tax portal (www.dhareeba.qa) before the deadline, regardless of whether they are simplified or audited by accredited accounting offices.

In order to avoid financial penalties and late filing charges, all companies must include their final accounts with their tax filings. GTA reiterated the importance of timely tax return submission as part of its commitment to promote tax compliance. Furthermore, and deployed its extensive resources to provide taxpayers with aid and support, which may be accessed via email or the phone center.
