The Extracorporeal Life Support Organization has awarded HMC's Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) the Gold Level ELSO Award for Excellence in Life Support.
The ELSO Excellence in Life Support Award honors ECLS programs around the globe that stand out for having policies, procedures, and frameworks in place that encourage excellence and superior patient care when delivering extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
The mission of ELSO is to honor and recognize ECLS programs that excel in terms of performance, creativity, and quality. As a recognized Center of Excellence, HMC has proven itself in three areas: promoting the goals, activities, and vision of ELSO; providing patient care through the use of the best practices, procedures, and frameworks supported by research; and providing training, education, collaboration, and communication in support of ELSO guidelines that foster a healing environment for patients, staff, and families.
