NewsBuilding on the rapid expansion seen in the first half of 2024, Hamad International Airport (DOH) declared that July 2024, with an astounding 4.73 million passengers serviced, has become the busiest month in the airport's operational history. At 10.2% higher than in July of last year, this milestone confirms the airport's position as a major hub for international aviation.
There are a few major reasons for this increase of passengers: In order to accommodate the increasing demand during the summer travel season, the airport's airline partners have increased the frequency of their flights.
The national airline, Qatar Airways, has significantly improved the airport's connectivity by adding seasonal summer operations and broadening its network of destinations. In July, there was a 3.9% increase in total aircraft movement at Hamad International Airport over the previous month.
It set the previous record for the busiest month when Hamad International Airport handled 4.5 million passengers in January 2024.
In July, the most popular travel locations were London, Bangkok, Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah; the most popular countries were Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA, India, and UK.
