Katara, the Cultural Village Foundation inaugurated a World Cup painting by Syrian artist Muntaha Jamil Sallat on Thursday, December 15, 2022, titled 'Towards the Goal'. The painting is located at Katara Building 47. The inauguration ceremony, held on the occasion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, was attended by several members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the country and a number of art enthusiasts.
Charge d'Affairs of the Syrian Embassy to the country Dr. Bilal Turkiya said that Qatar dazzled the world by organising this global football festival, praising the cultural activities that Katara holds for the guests of the World Cup. He stressed that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 highlighted the rich Arab and Islamic cultures.
Syrian artist Muntaha Jamil Sallat said that it is a great honour for her to leave her fingerprints and put colours on the walls of one of Katara's buildings. She noted that her large painting expresses the great global football event, which is Qatar's hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
