NewsH E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, has said that the Ministry is working with academic institutions, such as Hamad Bin Khalifa University, to investigate the scope, implications, and quick changes in artificial intelligence advances.
The Minister stated during yesterday's regular weekly meeting of the Shura Council that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is looking into the possibility of creating an advanced regulatory framework for artificial intelligence that would address the ethical and legal issues surrounding this field.
In order to increase accessibility and enhance the user experience, he also emphasized the continuous efforts to digitize and enhance government services. These efforts are primarily focused on lowering redundancy and enhancing integration across various government systems.
In terms of safeguarding community members against deception and creating youth programs, the Minister mentioned close collaboration with security agencies to tackle cybercrimes and improve security protocols, with a particular emphasis on global threats.
Al Mannai emphasized the significance of incorporating technology into education and offering technological educational programs that support the growth of youth competencies and increase their awareness of the safety of digital spaces in order to improve their capacity to engage in safe and productive interactions in a technologically evolving world.
He emphasized that the approach was created with citizens' economic and social interests in mind, with a focus on attaining these benefits.
