Ministry of Interior reminds of completing the residence or visit permit procedures

NewsIt is the employer's responsibility to make sure that foreign workers' visa applications are processed within 30 days of their arrival in Qatar. The employer and the foreign national were reminded by the Ministry of Interior (MOI) on social media of their need to finish the residency or visitation permit requirements. Failing to do so might result in fines up to QR 10,000 from the judiciary, among other consequences.
"Based on the provisions of Article (10) of Law No. 21 of 2015 regulating the entry, exit, and residence of expatriates (Paragraph 1), the employer must facilitate the expatriate to contact the competent authorities within 30 days from the date of entry into the country to complete the procedures for obtaining a residence or visit permit," according to the MOI. It further stated that the foreign national is not permitted to decline to finish these steps.
According to MOI, it is also permissible to make amends with the accused in this infraction, as per Article (42), by paying a penalty of QR10 for each day of delay, up to a maximum of QR6,000, in compliance with the legally mandated sum for reconciliation.
