NewsIn an effort to offer intelligent and automated services to the general public and beneficiary firms, the Ministry of Municipality has finished developing 110 of the 400 services that are part of its digital transformation initiative. According to Abdel Aziz Al Maadeed, Director of the Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Municipality Hamda, the digital services cover all sectors including agriculture, food security, urban development, general services, and community services.
As to her statement, the Ministry's website, Oun app, and smart city solutions are all part of the digital transformation initiative that started in 2023. Waste management and vehicle monitoring are two recent examples of smart solution projects completed. The idea was created with Al Wakra Municipality in mind. Al Maadeed stated that the job is still being done in the same way for other localities. According to her, the General Cleanliness Department is working with the Mechanical Department to accomplish the project.
Sensor chips have been installed in the waste containers to signal for unloading to the system equipped in the vehicles. According to her, the car will only travel to full containers, saving time and effort, protecting the environment, and minimising the number of vehicle journeys.
The Ministry of Municipality's updated Oun app will soon be available. Al Maadeed stated, artificial intelligence (AI) has been utilised to upgrade the Oun app, making it easier for consumers to access the services. According to her, in order to improve user efficiency, the Ministry of Municipality is refining its processes and re-engineering them utilising artificial intelligence (AI) and other contemporary technology.
Connecting to other government agencies to share data is one of the main advantages of the digital transformation. Al Maadeed stated that this will help lessen the requirements from applicants to upload documents and certificates every time.
The Ministry of Municipality's digital transformation initiative involves developing all of the services the ministry offers to all sectors, including municipalities, urban planning, agriculture and fisheries, public services, and joint services. By creating 400 services and fully developing every aspect of the technical infrastructure of those services, the project will significantly advance the field of smart city solutions. Without having to visit the service centres, consumers would be able to access the services 24/7 from any location conveniently.
Establishing a single, integrated electronic gateway for services and offering a variety of electronic platforms for convenient, easy-to-interact-with communication are two of the project's primary aspects. The quality of technical help will increase as a result. Blockchain and a sophisticated decentralised smart database, which will guarantee the legitimacy and security of the transactions, are the project's two main cutting-edge technology. Other uses include using big data analytics to foresee hazards, enhance customer service and experience, increase operational efficiency, and assist decision-making.
