Ministry of Transport plans to test services of electric air taxi and delivery planes in early 2025

As part of its ongoing efforts to establish and run an integrated mobility ecosystem in Qatar, the Ministry of Transport has scheduled tests of electric air taxi and electric delivery plane services for early 2025. 

To move forward with these test runs, the Ministry has applied for the required approvals and coordination matters with the relevant Qatari organizations.

By introducing the new concept of air mobility—which makes use of cutting-edge global technologies and artificial intelligence (AI)—this step will support the performance of Qatar's transportation sector and improve the integration, coherence, sustainability, and eco-friendliness of the public transit system.

This is in an effort to fulfill the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy (NDS3) for Qatar. NDS3 is focused on using cutting-edge technologies, attaining sustainable development, and diversifying the economy. This will further strengthen Qatar's dominant position in the world's transportation market and help the country realize the key objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
