The Commerce Ministry has announced fee reduction for services rendered to the industry and business development, consumer protection, and commerce sectors. This reduction can reach up to 90% for specific services, a move intended to boost economic growth.
Ministerial Decision No. (60) for 2024 has been announced by Minister of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, intending to boost the nation's economy, promote both domestic and international businesses, and provide an inviting investment climate.
In a statement, the Minister highlighted that this decision is part of the ministry's plan to enhance the investment climate and expand trade and industry sectors in Qatar. It also attempts to carry out the Third National Development Strategy's (2024–2030) objectives, which include economic diversification, sustainable growth, and the improvement and expansion of the business environment, to realise the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The yearly registration price of up to QR10,000 for individuals with a single primary activity in the commercial register has been reduced to QR500. The yearly registration renewal price for a single primary activity in the commercial register was formerly up to QR10,000; however, it is now just QR500.
The annual licencing cost for comparable public, commercial, or industrial spaces, or a branch thereof, was once up to QR10,000, but it is now just QR500. The yearly licencing renewal charge for comparable commercial, industrial, or public establishments, or a branch thereof, was previously up to QR10,000; and is now just QR500.
The yearly licence price for home-based company operations was once up to QR10,000, but it is now only QR500. The yearly licence renewal price for home-based businesses used to be up to QR10,000; however, it is now only QR500.
Commercial registration, commercial permits, commercial agents registry, commercial company services, auditors, practicing consultancy services, quality licences, patent services, protection of designs and industrial models, and industrial development services are among the services for which the service prices have been lowered.
