NewsAn environmental protection campaign and inspection have been started by the Wildlife Protection Department, on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC). The campaign, which runs through June 22, focuses on coastal regions in the nation's north, center, and south.
In a statement, MoECC Director of Wildlife Protection Department Hamad Salem Al Nuaimi said, "The drive was launched on the occasion of Eid Al Adha festivity when a large number of people visit beaches and other picnic places."
The campaign's objectives are to document environmental law infractions and inform the public about the laws that the nation has passed to protect the environment. He stated that in order to change the picnickers' behavior and encourage good habits that would protect the local ecosystem, they will be made aware of environmental laws and regulations.
According to him, the campaign is a part of the MoECC's significant recent efforts to protect the local ecosystem, which includes both plants and animals, as well as biodiversity. The MoECC launched numerous projects and initiatives aimed at preserving the local environment.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change recently identified 17 environmental infractions during a campaign of awareness that focused on a number of locations along Qatar's northern coast. To save biodiversity and save the animals, the drive was organized in tandem with the Lekhwiya Internal Security Force.
