The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in Qatar has announced the introduction of a new structure for the Disability Parking Permit. According to the Ministry, the new format was created using the most recent technical requirements and in compliance with recognized norms.
It went on to say that the revised permit format complies with national regulations governing the usage of disabled parking spots. Additionally, the Ministry confirmed that expired licenses will remain valid until that date.
The following are the terms and conditions for using a disability parking permit:
1. If the person with the disability is not inside the car, parking in designated spots is forbidden.
2. There must be a visible and conspicuous display of the permit behind the front windshield.
3. In the event that a car is parked in a designated disabled parking area without the permit holder present, the General Directorate of Traffic may issue a citation and cancel the permit.
4. If the permit is lost, notice must be given to the General Directorate of Traffic, the agency that issued it, within 48 hours.
5. The permit should be turned in to the closest Traffic Directorate branch or police station when it is located.
6. A permit that lacks the authority's stamp of issuance is deemed null and void.
7. If the permit is used without authorization, it will be suspended and a violation notice will be issued.
8. It is forbidden to use the permit or show it when the disabled person is not inside the car.
