Museums in Qatar back to regular hours

Museums in Qatar are back to their normal timings, from Saturday to Thursday, 9am to 7pm and on Friday, 1:30pm to 7pm. The museums were open from 10am to 8pm, Sunday through Saturday, during the World Cup. This included National Museum of Qatar, 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the Museum of Islamic Art, and Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art.

Entry to the museums including Qatar Museums (QM) galleries are free of charge for Qatar and GCC residents, children aged 16 or below, and One Pass Holder. Regular ticket costs QR100 and can be booked through Qatar Museums website. Aside from the museums, the public can visit several exhibitions which will run until 2023 or 2024, including 'Pipilotti Rist: Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You' until July 15, 2023; A Sneak Peek at Qatar Auto Museum Project, until January 20, 2024; On the Move, until January 14, 2023 — all at the National Museum of Qatar.

Ongoing exhibitions At Mathaf include Majaz: Contemporary Art Qatar, until February 25, 2023; Taysir Batniji: No Condition is Permanent; Sophia Al-Maria: INVISIBLE LABORS daydream therapy, One Tiger or Another, all running until January 21, 2023; and Almaha Almaadeed: Inspired by the Land, until January 28, 2023.

The 'World of Football' exhibition is open at 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum until April 1, 2023. At Qatar Museums Gallery in Katara: 'Labour of Love', until January 28, 2023; Qatar Museums Gallery in Al Riwaq – Lusail Museum: Tales of a Connected World, until April 1, 2023.

Museum of Islamic Art is holding the Safar exhibition until January 24, 2023; Baghdad: Eye’s Delight, and City of Mirage: Baghdad, from Wright to Venturi, 1952-1982, until February 25, 2023; Yayoi Kusama: My Soul Blooms Forever, until March 1, 2023; and Raku Kichizaemon XV Jikinyu: A Living Tradition of Japanese Pottery, until March 20, 2023. 

M7 exhibitions include: The Forever Valentino, until April 1, 2023; Anassir exhibition, and The Age of Modern Architecture in Qatar, both will run through January 21, 2023.

At Fire Station: Artist in Residence – Note To Self, Sakha by Yousef Ahmad, Arwa Al Neami: ART IS NOT A RACE, all running until January 2023; and Experience Al Jazeera, until March 2023. Art Mill Museum 2030 located at two locations: Qatar Flour Mills warehouse and Al Najada heritage house will run until March 30, 2023.
