Nakilat was ranked 65th out of the “Top 100 Companies in the Middle East” and 7th in Qatar, according to Forbes Middle East’s annual ranking of the region’s top 100 listed companies. Featuring the largest, most valuable, and profitable companies in the region, the 2022 Forbes Middle East list of companies spans diverse industries, including energy, logistics, real estate and construction, retail, food and beverage, telecommunications, as well as banking and investment, according to the December issue of the magazine.
At the forefront of Qatar’s priorities is protecting the environment and supporting sustainable development as sustainability plays a vital role in preserving natural resources for future generations.
Eng Abdullah Al Sulaiti, Chief Executive Officer of Nakilat, stated in its magazine Voyages, “If we could describe the past year with one word, it would be ‘excellence’ the driving force that has established Nakilat as a global leader and provider of choice for energy transportation and maritime services. Nakilat understands the importance of protecting our planet, supporting all measures toward a greener future for the maritime sector. Sustainability plays an essential role in the way we conduct business in an environmentally friendly manner, and we continuously look for ways to operate sustainably as we continue to expand our operations and fleet,” he noted.
“Customer-centricity is at the core of our business operations. We remain whole-heartedly committed to meeting the need for safe and reliable energy transportation, particularly at a time where this is becoming ever increasingly challenging," he added.
Al Sulaiti stated that Qatar’s outstanding hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 mega event brought the transformative power of football to the region, assembling fans from all over the world to Qatar to celebrate sport, camaraderie, respect, diversity, tolerance, and mutual understanding. “Qatar has had many successes over the past few years and as an organisation, we are proud to do our part in contributing to the country’s multifaceted success on the local and global stage.”
Nakilat LNG and LPG fleets are to undergo the next scheduled dry dockings that have already started in April 2022 through to August 2025, for the safe completion of the 3rd special survey: all dry-docking works, planned maintenance and other inspections.
Dry-docking is a mandatory element of the overall ship management process, being Class and Flag requirement, allowing any sea-going vessel to be certified for operation and tradability. The dry-docking scope will be executed in line with the Class inspection programme for the type of vessel and generally performed on vessels out of the water to check the vessel’s condition and structure integrity.
The company was awarded the Annual Qatarization Crystal Award for ‘Supporting Learning and Development’. The award was presented at the Energy sector’s 2021 Strategic Qatarization Plan event held on June 22, 2022. This is the fifth Qatarization Crystal Award won by Nakilat over the years. During the 2021 awards session, the company was recognised for its outstanding contribution in supporting learning and development initiatives for Qatari Nationals from among 30 participating companies in the local energy sector.
