New amendments to tuition fees has been announced by Qatar University for undergraduate levels for non-Qatari students, and all post-graduate students as well as university housing fees.
The amendments, which come into effect from effect from fall 2023, include an increase in tuition fees for the undergraduate level for non-Qatari students, and for all postgraduate students, as well as the university housing fees, according to a statement from the university on Saturday.
The new tuition fees for the bachelor’s level per hour amount to QR1100 for courses of the College of Education, College of Law, College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, and for the literary courses of the College of Arts and Sciences.
The news fee for courses of the College of Administration and Economics, the College of Health Sciences, the College of Nursing and the Program Foundation and scientific courses in the College of Arts and Sciences, will be QR1200 per hour.
The tuition fees for courses of the College of Engineering, the College of Pharmacy, and the Arabic language program for non-native speakers have become QR1400 per hour while the annual fees for students of the Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry in the first year are QR38,000, and in the second and third years QR72,000 per year.
The fee for the fourth year is QR108,000, and in the fifth and sixth years QR138,000 each per year.
The university indicated that the tuition fee for students of the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry are approximate, and that it depends on the courses in which the student is registered from the different faculties.
As for the fees for postgraduate programs courses, master’s and doctoral programs, postgraduate degree programs, and the Doctor of Pharmacy program have become QR2200 per hour, with the exception of the hourly fees for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, which became QR2600 per hour.
Meanwhile, the fees for the Education Diploma Program courses have become QR2000 per hour.
With regard to the amendment of student housing fees, Qatar University indicated that the room fees have been adjusted according to their area and the number of room occupants, while maintaining the fees for small rooms for single occupancy is QR2000 per month, while the fees for large rooms have increased to QR1100-2600 per month. .
The statement from the university indicated that these increases will be applied to students who will enroll in the university starting from fall of 2023, and will not be applied to current students.
It noted that these increases come at a time when the university offers distinguished quality education in multiple disciplines and with fees that are not commensurate with the costs it bears and the advantages and facilities it provides for its students.
This fee includes accommodation in the residence, three meals a day, and transportation from the residence halls to the various buildings and colleges on campus.
