A new Ministry of Municipality plan for 2024–2030 was unveiled yesterday in an event hosted in Doha by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Three key areas are prioritised in the new strategy: increasing food security; promoting excellence in services and digital transformation; and enhancing quality of life and humanising cities.
Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, Minister of Finance H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Communications and Information Technology H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, and Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah were present at the event.
The new plan is intended to help achieve the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy 2024–2030, which include raising living standards, promoting sustainability, fostering innovation, maintaining the provision of first-rate services, and building cutting-edge infrastructure.
The Ministry of Municipality will continue to develop cutting-edge national competences and foster the best possible work environment under the new plan by carefully allocating the Ministry's staff and assisting national cadres in their efforts to promote the nation's growth.
In order to guarantee the provision of top-notch services that fulfil everyone's expectations, the Ministry's plan will also concentrate on finishing the path of institutional excellence by certifying all sectors of the Ministry to receive the European Excellence Model (EFQM) accreditation.
The Ministry of Municipality's new strategy is based on strong institutional values, strategic axes, and specific goals that it seeks to achieve through smart partnerships, cooperative efforts, and innovative technologies. It aims to improve the quality of life through sustainable planning, effective policies, distinguished services, and modern infrastructure.
