New system for transferring students from one government school to another according to the geographic location of their homes

NewsBeginning with the upcoming academic year 2024–2025, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) will be implementing a new system for moving students between government schools based on where their residences are located. The action is intended to facilitate travel and lessen gridlock.
This enables parents whose children attend government schools to move their kids to a school near their new residences.
"Parents who have moved can apply to transfer their kids to a school close to their new home through MoEHE Maarif Portal for Public Services," stated Hamad Abdul Aziz Al Yafei, Head of MoEHE's Student Admission and Registration Section.
Early electronic transfer will take place for students (Qatari, GCC citizens, and children of Qatari women) from May 19 to June 20, 2024, and for students of all other countries from June 9 to June 20, 2024.
From August 26 to September 30, 2024, electronic transfer will be available again for all nationalities at the start of the new academic year. Students will be able to register and transfer through specialized schools between April 28 and June 20, 2024.
Students for the nationalities permitted for admission must be registered through schools between August 26 and September 30, 2024, in accordance with the registration requirements specified in the Ministry-approved admission policy.
