Percentage of electrified public buses in Qatar reached 73% in first quarter of 2024

NewsAccording to the Transport Minister, the number of electrified public buses in Qatar hit 73% in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, and the strategy is on pace to attain a fleet of 100% electric public buses by 2030. He was speaking yesterday at the Autonomous e-Mobility Forum's opening session. The forum is organized by Just Us & Otto Marketing Services and hosted by the Ministry of Transport. It takes place over two days at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).
Several ministries, prominent state officials, and chairpersons of organizations involved in the transportation sector attended the inauguration event.
Al Sulaiti also declared that the Ministry of Transport will shortly open a facility dedicated to examining and evaluating EVs' conformance to specifications authorized in Qatar and releasing their certifications. He claimed that this supports Qatar's ambitions to emerge as a significant EV hub in the MENA area.
