30 Dec 2022
NewsThe medical commission service at Al Wakra Health Centre will be transferred to the recently opened Al Mashaf Health Centre with effect from January 1, 2023, as announced by the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) in a tweet. According to the PHCC the medical commission service was fully discontinued at Al Wakra Health Centre effective from yesterday. This decision has been taken in order to ease overcrowding due to the limited spaces available at Al Wakra Health Centre.
At all health centres in the country registered patients can obtain a “Medical Fitness Certificate” issued by PHCC upon their request, after making the required set of examination and laboratory tests ordered by the family physician. The medical fitness certificate is issued in all health centres for requirements as travel abroad (Qatari, Non-Qatari), athletes, sport students (Qatari, Non-Qatari), applicant students for Qatar University/ Qatar Foundation (Qatari Only).
New migrant domestic workers (i.e. family housemaid/family drivers) arriving to the country can do all the required examinations and tests for obtaining their MoI residence permits at selected PHCC health centres. Appointments may be rescheduled through 107.
The PHCC is currently running 30 health centres after the official opening of Umm Al Seneem Health Centre and Al Mashaf Health Centre.
The PHCC also launched recently the urgent care service at Al Mashaf Health Centre, bringing the total number of health centres that provide this service to nine health centres.
The health centres that provide the urgent care services 24 hours all weekdays are: Al Ruwais Health Centre, Umm Slal Health Centre, Muaither Health Centre, Al Gharrafa Health Centre, Al Sheehaniya Health Centre, Abu Baker Sidiq Health Centre, Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre, Al Kaaban Health Centre, and the ninth is the state-of-art Al Mashaf Health Centre that was recently opened.
The PHCC strives to achieve the National Primary Health Care Strategy, which is committed to enabling a swifter patient access to high quality health care services which would result in gaining the satisfaction of patients and customers.
