Qatar Airways achieves a new milestone with the installation of Starlink on its 30th aircraft

The installation of Starlink on its 30th aircraft, which equips more than half of its Boeing 777 fleet, marks a new milestone for Qatar Airways, the largest airline in the world to provide high-speed internet on board. This accomplishment comes two months after the airline upgraded 15 aircraft with Starlink connection, exceeding its initial 2024 target of 12 installations, and four months after the airline launched the first Boeing 777 Starlink-enabled flight in history.

In order to reduce the retrofit time by almost three-quarters of the original timeframe, Qatar Airways has drastically accelerated its Starlink rollout, decreasing the installation time per aircraft from three or two days to only 9.5 hours. The airline has meticulously scheduled the installations to take place over the course of a 12-hour overnight period, guaranteeing a smooth process with minimal disruption to operations or flight schedules.
